Oooo That Makes Me Mad
Ok…So I’m hosting a birthday party for one of my kids last night and after the party I notice a Twitter DM from one of my friends. Since it was from a trusted friend, I clicked on the link. The link in his DM didn’t work. It was late and I was tired so a just decided to let the message go and get some sleep. Oh…but the link did work…. My Twitter account was compromised and now a bunch of my friends received a bunch of bogus messages from me…what a nightmare.
Working in this field, I’m not surprised. But it still really makes me angry. What a pathetic waste of talent and energy. What a curse and a blite on the face of all that is good and useful in technology. Of course, spammers like the one who got me thrive on reactions like this so my ranting is futile. Still…It feels great to vent my frustration about this a little.
Plus, I guess I am really thankful to whomever started this nuisance for one thing. I recently heard a quote from Erwin McManus that went something like this.
Evil men don’t wait 4 permission 2 create the future. But good people sit idly by waiting 4 God 2 create a better world.
I pray for all who use your genius for selfish and evil gain. As long as you are breathing, there is hope for you to change. However, I also pray for those who are on the side of all that is Good. How long are we going to let evil out do us in technology? There are many who use technology to be helpful, but there is so much more we can do with technology in the name of Christ that would bless the lives of many. Education, Communication, Medicine…the list goes on.
What would happen if the same level of energy and genius that is invested in everything that is evil in the cloud was invested in things that actually bless people’s lives. It would be pretty amazing.

Wow – sorry to hear you got hit. Thankfully, God’s eternal plans cannot get hacked, our salvation is secure and our prayers go straight through to Him. Someday we will all be imune to life’s spamming, hacking and phishing.
